A visual identity design for my personal and professional creative output in art and graphic design.
I created this mark and range of assets to encapsulate both the structure and fluidity that work in tandem throughout my creative process and output.
Contrast, harmony and space are my principal aesthetic aims, be it physical, digital or a combination of both forms.

I Begin With An Idea...
Visual identity design for a new restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland.
The design was driven by the vision for the cuisine, dining experience and restoration of the 19th century townhouse in which the restaurant is located.
The identity and collateral needed to establish and represent the contemporary approach with traditional elements used through the process of deconstruction and reconstruction arranged in a playful but purposeful manner.

I created a gatefold brochure, posters, an app and movie tickets as part of the visual identity for a BFI film festival featuring three of the most influential film directors of the twentieth century. These being David Lean, Federico Fellini and Stanley Kubrick. Combining these three directors in an overall design concept required comparisons in stylistic techniques, how their work compared to each others and was absorbed into the culture over time and their influence on many other creators.

A visual identity project for a massage therapy business.
Essential to the design process was to represent both the individual and therapeutic qualities of this intimate and reinvigorating experience.
Flexible, playful, vibrant and thoughtful were important elements that guided the design concept and application. My aim was to represent the process of the massage experience based on my clients professional characteristics.

The Fuck Buttons are a British music duo who make propulsive and abrasive electronic music with pulsing rhythms that create atmosphere and envelop the listener with a visceral sound.
My approach for producing a vinyl record cover for their most recent album 'Slow focus' was to create and use stencils and spray paint in a layering process. I applied the process to canvas in order to create depth and texture of the motifs, representing the atmosphere and feeling I got through listening to the album.

This project made me question the relationship between artifice and nature. A perfectly proportioned unit devised by man, made imperfect once brought into the physical world.
How then could the integrity of the square still exist once human interaction and environmental conditions had come into effect?
I divided the square into length sections of equal width, then individually dropped each from forearm height, exposing each to the environmental conditions, finally adding a 90 degress rotation of the destined surface in between each drop. This combination reflected the duality of nature vs. artifice and the relationship between object and it's environment.

This is a campaign event aimed to improve the public perception of Drinkwise Australia, an organisation promoting responsible drinking that's focused towards 18-24 year olds. They have been criticised by health industry experts for having a conflict of interest with leading Alcohol industry figures.
My aim was to create and promote a music and visuals event that would engage young people with an opportunity to promote Drinkwise's 'drinking in moderation as a socially acceptable behaviour' platform.
